Crinkled Baklava Rolls

These log-shaped rolls are a variation of traditional baklava. Called saragli in Greece, these crinkled variations resembling cigars can be left in approximately 6 cm (3 inches) rolls or cut further into bite-sized pieces.

The nut filling for these baklava is completely encased within the phyllo pastry, making them simple to store and eat.

For an excellent and unusual variation, add cocoa powder to the filling by sprinkling 1-2 teaspoons through a sieve and onto the nut filling.
