Vegan Cooking for A Healthy Lifestyle

4 October 2018 - 6 October 2018, Zürich

Join us this October for our 3-day Vegan Cooking Workshop in beautiful Zürich, Switzerland. We have designed our workshop specifically for those who are interested in participating in an intensive program of vegan cooking and eating. Our workshop will help those who are serious about following a healthy-eating lifestyle and want to learn more about the latest techniques in vegan cooking. Your valuable new skills will help you immediately in your own kitchen, but more importantly, we believe your experience will help keep you healthy for a long time.

The workshop will be 100% plant-based. We believe a vegan diet is the best option in maintaining health, and to combat many illnesses associated with a standard western-style diet. We follow the scientifically-backed advice from Professor George Jelinek, Forks Over Knives and Dr. Michael Gregor. The instruction and recipes are offered by Professional Plant-Based Chef Jack McNulty and his partner and Nutritional Advisor Silvia Gautschi McNulty. The workshop will feature:

The instruction will focus on techniques used in healthy plant-based cooking. We will shy away from using any tropical fats, heavily processed foods and non-seasonal products. Our emphasis will be on whole foods and local products (organic whenever if possible). Here are some of the topics we will cover:

What to expect. We’ll begin each day at 8am with an optional breakfast, then we’ll hit the kitchen and begin cooking! The morning sessions will feature demonstration techniques, followed by participatory cooking to make a healthy (and substantial) lunch. After a refreshing afternoon pause and lunch, we will get back in the kitchen and continue the day learning a few more tricks of the trade. The first two days will conclude around 5pm, leaving enough time to get out and explore the wonderful city of Zürich…or simply relax. We will conclude the last day at 4pm and enjoy a nice dinner together – and perhaps a bit of wine! We recommend arriving one night early if possible…and if you do, please join us in our kitchen for a welcome dinner (between 18:00 and 20:00).

If you are traveling to Zürich. There are a number of hotels within easy access to our kitchen. We can recommend the following options:

Ibis Hotel Zürich Messe – Located just 300 meters from our kitchen and a nice choice for budget-minded guests.

Kameha Grand Hotel – Just one tram stop from our kitchen, this higher-end hotel offers convenience and comfort.

Holiday Inn Zürich Messe – This moderately-priced hotel is just 2 tram stops away and offers convenience and comfort.

Acasa Suites Zürich – This aparthotel offers a bit more than just a room. It is located just 3 tram stops away (about 8 minutes)

Arrival and Airport: The Zürich airport is very close.  It is a short 15-minute tram ride to our kitchen location.  We are also nearby just in case public transport doesn’t work out…just let us know your plans and we will try to make everything as simple as possible and arrange to pick you up!

Costs: The workshop fee this year will be CHF 495 for singles and CHF 890 for couples (hotel and travel expenses are extra).

Here are some comments we received from participants in our earlier workshops…

“Jack and Silvia have provided a great forum to focus on expanding our taste buds and setting us on a path where what has been taken out pales into insignificance compared to what we will be putting on our plates in the future. An intense and satisfying experience!”

“Simply an OMS need that HAS to be filled. We’re all going to be eating this way for the rest of our lives and having these workshops to keep us topped up with great ideas is amazing – please offer more.”

“Wouldn’t have missed it. We both took away so many things. Feeling really inspired.”

“Priceless in terms of renewed motivation and interest in cooking, has made me excited to go to the greengrocer and choose different vegetables. The support from other OMSers is yet again priceless and inspiring, so combined has given me a renewed sense of hope.”
